Serves as a recognized expert and Professor of Security Studies at the Near East South East Asia Center for Strategic Studies (NESA), contributing expertise and experience to educate participants in graduate level and senior executive programs in Washington, DC, as well as in-country in the Near East South Asia region.
Key Tasks:
Prepares and delivers lectures and seminar instruction in the fields of national security strategy, national security systems, national policy- and decision-making, among others topics, specifically focusing on the NESA Center region.
Plans and develops foundation seminars, as well as programs tailored to specific countries and sub-regions.
Conducts research on matters of US national security policy and strategy, analyzes needs and developments in domestic and foreign policy, and makes original and innovative contributions on important national policy issues.
Provides advice to the NESA Center, combatant command (COCOM), and Department of Defense leadership on issues pertaining to security challenges within the NESA region.
Represents the NESA Center at professional meetings, conferences, symposia and workshops. Nurtures professional relationships with leading educators, public officials, and members of the media in the fields of security affairs, public policy and strategy to stay abreast of new developments in teaching methodology and to enlist their services in improving the quality of instruction in NESA Center programs.
Plans, develops and leads programs of instruction for events within partner countries of the NESA Center region. Participates in the development of future education policies and plans for the NESA Center.
Education Requirement: Education Requirement: A master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in a field related to Middle East Studies, Security Studies, International Relations or other appropriate discipline if required.
