The position is a Supervisory Accountant in the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Office of Retail Securities Services, Division of Securities Accounting, Transaction Accounting Branch/Reconcilements Section, supervising the work of employees ensuring the accounting and financial integrity of information contained on the Agency's retail securities systems.Learn more about this agency
As a Supervisory Accountant, you will:
- Direct, plan, assign, and determine priorities of subordinates' work; determine performance standards and evaluate performance; and provide technical and administrative guidance and instruction to employees.
- Change assignment to improve the efficiency of the work flow; revise internal work methods and practices; develop and implement new approaches and detailed procedures related to the operations of the group. Participate in the development, implementation, and testing of manual and automated systems to ensure accurate, effective, and efficient systems.
- Coordinate work to achieve smooth workflow and meet specified deadlines. Negotiate and coordinate work related changes affecting other organizations.
- Participate in meetings with higher officials within the branch and division as well as other representatives of the Agency to coordinate accounting functions.
- Responsible for the quantity and quality of work produced within the section. Review, revise, and initiate controls over the processing of data through various systems to assure accurate operation and output for both automated and manual accounting systems. Ensure operational compliance with multiple sources of governing federal regulations.
Occasional travel - Infrequent, perhaps 1-2 times per year.
