The position is located in the Bureau of Consumer Protection (BCP), Division of Consumer Response and Operations (DCRO). DCRO plays a key role in BCP’s consumer complaint intake, distribution of complaint data to law enforcement agencies, and operations within the Bureau. The incumbent works in the Consumer Response Center, overseeing the effective and efficient operation of the FTC’s complaint intake process, as well as delivering appropriate responses to consumers who reach out to the FTC.

As a Consumer Response Specialist at the full performance level, the incumbent:

To qualify at the GS-09 level: applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing appropriate responses to consumers who experience a wide range of consumer protection problems, and analyzing and evaluating the responses of call center agents to ensure consistency with contractual duties.
OR you can qualify based on education for the GS-09, if you have completed:
• Related master's for equivalent graduation degree
• 2 full years of related, progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or
• LL.B or J.D., if related.
