    Summary

    The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System provides quality, patient-centered health care to Veterans throughout 23 parishes in southeast Louisiana. We meet the needs of Veterans through seven community-based outpatient clinics located in Slidell, Hammond, St. John Parish, Houma, Franklin, Bogalusa and Baton Rouge, as well as a new Veterans Medical Center in New Orleans.     Responsibilities

    The Medical-Surgical RN provides care to patients with medical-surgical diagnosis who require acute level care and observation. Frequent admitting diagnoses are: congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, stroke, diabetes, diabetic foot ulcers, urinary complications, cellulitis, deep venous thrombosis, liver failure, pancreatitis, and infectious processes. Telemetry monitoring is required and knowledge of EKG interpretation required. Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. Must maintain BLS certification.

    TOUR OF DUTY: (7:00pm - 7:00am & As Patient Care Dictates)

    This is a BARGAINING unit position.
