    You will serve as a MECHANICAL ENGINEER for Diesel Engines in the Engines and Power Trains Division (SEA05Z2) of the Marine Engineering Group (SEA05Z) of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C.

    • You will serve as the Engineering Manager for Diesel engines, including high- and medium-speed diesel engines, diesel engine alignment, diesel generators, and diesel engine intakes and exhausts,
    • You will also provide engineering management of diesel engine fuel, air, turbo charging, super charging, combustion, exhaust, emissions, and lubrication systems and materials, construction, and production,
    • You will identify and secure commitment of program funds needed to provide field activity and contractor technical support and headquarters oversight,
    • You will serve as the U.S. Navy?s Technical Representative on Joint Service Panels, Data Review Panels, and Integrated Product Teams,
    • You will establish and approve technical policy and requirements, and lead and set design policy as the subject matter expert for Navy surface ships,
    • You will approve surface ship specifications, performance requirements, and approve ship design products, including system engineering analyses,
    • You will plan and manage complex Diesel Engine systems development and support programs, interacting with a variety of organizations, laboratories, field activities and contractors,
    • You will evaluate and incorporate the latest development of Diesel Engine systems in the field into technical plans, proposals and specifications governing subsequent systems design, development, production, procurement and utilization,
    • You will enforce technical standards for Diesel Engine systems, and develop mechanical engineering guidelines for command headquarters and field activities.
