    Dental assistants at this level serve at the full performance level with the ability to perform full range of duties with some independence in assigned specialties, with indirect supervision from the treating dentist. Advanced knowledge of instruments, materials, and standardized materials used in the specialty regiments in dentistry. Advanced knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for clinical and laboratory operations.

    Primary duties of dental assistants include chairside assisting in direct patient care, performing dental imaging procedures, providing patient education, performing infection control duties, maintaining dental equipment, and stocking supplies.
