    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: NGA Research seeks a Supervisory Research Scientist to serve as Radar Pod Lead (RPL). The RPL will provide leadership to foster, administer, and execute an integrated project portfolio of applied research, advanced technology development, and capability transition for NGA to deliver technical intelligence superiority and decision advantage to the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD). NGA Research Radar Pod (RP) projects address SAR collection, processing and image formation, including passive and active bistatic and multistatic radar data, tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination (TCPED) of all radar data and image standards (including SICD), multi-modal fusion, automatic target recognition (ATR), tracking, machine learning, moving target indication (MTI), secure real-time implementation and compute, and leverage of commercial and foreign data systems. Specific duties of the position include: * Construct and implement a portfolio approach to advance the field of radar processing and exploitation with new and innovative capabilities for NGA, DoD and IC, adapting agilely to emerging needs and opportunities with well-designed R&D programs. * Mentor RP staff to design and monitor execution of innovative R&D programs with scientific and programmatic integrity in accordance with Heilmeier criteria, particularly with respect to milestones and technical objectives. This includes mentoring RP staff to work with the Research Program Execution Office to create funding solicitations such as BAAs. * Understand organizational priorities and dependencies. Plan, assign, and monitor work to ensure the technical quality and timeliness of the work produced by the RP. Adjust resources assignments (people, budget, and material) to meet changing demands and priorities. Innovate to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. * Assemble a team of scientists, engineers, and subject matter experts (SMEs); lead and assess their performance; develop their skills and experience; and equip them to create and execute radar R&D programs in accordance with Heilmeier criteria. * As a member of the NGA Research management team, collaborate across the Research organization and NGA to achieve desired outcomes and ensure that NGA Research delivers new, impactful GEOINT capabilities. * Work with all RP customers to ensure that innovative radar capabilities meet expectations and transition rapidly and effectively. * Interact and collaborate with other government agencies, allied partners, industry, and universities to advance the radar mission of NGA. * Provide sensor, architecture, and system requirements and specifications to data providers to facilitate new and innovative radar capabilities. * Speak publicly on NGA radar research and represent NGA as a SME on committees, and working groups. * Ensure compliance with all federal regulations applicable to source selection, security, and execution of R&D programs.
