This position is located in the Medicine section at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. The Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Health Care System is seeking full-time staff physicians to be Hospitalists (Nocturnists) in our Medicine Service. Physician will be the primary attending for a general medicine inpatient team, provide direct care, and supervise an outpatient diagnostic center and follow-up clinic. In addition, training and experience with quality management in the health care setting is preferred. Call, weekend, holiday, and vacation coverage will be coordinated with Medical Service Staff physicians. He/she will apply national and VA guidelines to patient screening, surveillance and management of patients with a variety of general internal medicine conditions. He/she will participate in the education and supervision of trainees. Research experience is preferred. Successful candidates would qualify for a faculty/academic appointment in the Department of Internal Medicine at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
