The primary purpose of this position is to design exhibition catalogs, other books and ephemera for the Smithsonian American Art Museum and its Renwick Gallery. The museum has a strong exhibition program, opening about six exhibitions annually at the main museum and four at the Renwick location. Many of these exhibitions have catalogs; most have printed ephemera that accompany them.

Specialized Experience GS-11:
You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position, specialized experience is defined as proposing, designing, and producing print materials that includes use of reproduced images and involve aesthetic judgments and quality controls as well as cost estimates and production scheduling.
