The Legislative Management Specialist will serve as a liaison to National Capital Region (NCR) planning program. NCR is the recipient of request for special resources studies, new units and planning processes. The incumbent will track the progress of studies, new unit establishment and foundation document/general management planning efforts. The incumbent is a key manager of the Congressional Affairs and Legislative Program for NCR.

As an Legislative Management Specialist you will:
There is no substitution of education for experience at the grade level(s) of this announcement.
Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.
This announcement may be used to fill additional positions if identical vacancies occur within 90 days of the issue date of the referral certificate.
Physical Demands: Work requires intense concentration, extreme pressure and shifting priorities due to external pressures. A significant amount of work requires the use of computers and standing for extended periods of time while performing library research. Work also takes place after hours requiring participation in public hearing which are held or extend outside normal business hours.
Working Conditions: The incumbent works in an office setting and in meeting rooms, libraries and research rooms. Work requires local travel to attend hearings and to meet with park staff at park headquarters and in the field.
The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
