    Summary

    The position is located in Platform Support, Infrastructure Operations (IO), IT Operations and Services (ITOPS), Office of Information and Technology (OI&T). You will serve as an Information Technology (IT) Analyst with full range of duties associates with the IT specialty area required to support: Back Office Systems.

    The first 50 candidates who applied will be considered for referral to the selecting official.Additional candidates in increments of 50 will be referred based on hiring needs.

    Nation-wide Location to be determine after selection. Position will be located at a VA Facility.

    This is a Bargaining Unit position.

    Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary, but may involve intermediate periods walking, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, moving (up to 50 pounds) computer components and supplies, reaching, pulling, and working at a keyboard and monitor. Subject to call back outside tour of duty.

    Promotion Potential: This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-12. At the GS-11 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-12. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed and no promise of promotion is implied.

    Major Duties:

    • Provides support, implements, and manages core services to include as example SQL, Exchange messaging systems, Centralized Security Applications, and various sub-systems that they operate on.
    • Support, implement and recommend improvement to policies and procedures
    • Utilizes experience, discretion, judgment and knowledge in the planning, execution, operation and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure.
    • Creates and maintains documentation on IT systems and infrastructure to include configuration standards, as-built diagrams and historical and trending information.
