    Summary

    The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) is the recognized leader as a corporate university, advancing the use of technology in all areas of education. Faculty members are "thinking partners" with customers and students, continuously improving product and service delivery to provide the right knowledge and skills at the point of need. This position is for a Professor of Program Management, providing mission assistance, classroom offerings and on-line resources.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct instruction and mission assistance across the Acquisition Learning Model with respect to leadership and management positions in acquisition programs, and participation or management of key acquisition activities across the spectrum of the DoD acquisition framework/phases. Subject Matter Expertise areas include but are not limited to:
      • Development of acquisition documentation and plans, participation in key events such as Milestone Reviews, Defense Acquisition Boards, Critical Design Reviews, etc.
      • DoD systems acquisition processes, including business, technical (including systems engineering), and program management and oversight
      • Systems acquisition process implementation to include customer/stakeholder, interaction source selection, technical management, and risk management.
    • Serves as a "thinking partner" with customers and students, continuously -improving product and service delivery to provide the right knowledge and skills at the point of need through mission assistance, workshops, classroom offerings and on-line resources.
    • Builds relationships and partnerships with peers and program management leaders from all organizations within their area of responsibility.
    • Elicits customer feedback from customers, students and stakeholders to shape the content and delivery of learning assets with the goal of improving the customers' acquisition outcomes.
    • Creates content as needed, and coordinates with learning asset and technology divisions, which have central responsibility for development of curriculum, to modify assets and delivery methods.Teaching managerial, technical and business concepts to students with different backgrounds and experiences.
    • Proficiency in classroom and workflow instructional methods delivery to include guided discussions, lectures, and facilitation of case studies.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    50% or less - You may be expected to travel up to 30% for this position.
