This Financial Specialist position is located in the Financial Policy and Travel Branch, Financial Management Division, Finance and Administration (CFO), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:
- Serves as the TSA subject matter expert executing the strategic and tactical management of several high-impact, TSA-wide Financial programs to include the TSA Government Travel Card and Relocations Programs, Post Payment Audit, and the Travel Systems.
- Set travel policies and procedures for all of TSA, based upon overall Federal and DHS policies and regulations, implementing changes in the overall guidance for TSA.
- Develops training concerning the changes, sends out bulletins informing TSA stakeholders, advises senior leadership such as the CFO, and authorizes appropriate changes in the automated system.
*Supervisory/Managerial duties include serving as a first line supervisor for the organization. This includes but is not limited to: assigning work, setting priorities, and reviewing and evaluating work and performance of subordinates; approving leave; coaching and developing employees; recommending corrective or disciplinary actions; assisting in budget planning and projecting short-term needs; managing projects within assigned resources; resolving routine problems that typically impact the objectives of the organizational unit; when required, coordinating with customers outside the immediate organization.
