    You will serve as a key member of the command's Public Affairs team: as the Marketing Specialist / Deputy Public Affairs Officer at Naval Hospital Jacksonville of NAVHOSP JACKSONVILLE.

    Responsibilities

    • Conducts strategic marketing and communications to meet the goals of the command (hospital and five branch health clinics), Navy Medicine, Defense Health Agency, and the Navy.
    • Creates and implements short- and long-term marketing / communications plans, strategies, and tactics to promote health care - related services, programs, and issues. Audiences include: the patient population (active duty and retired military and families) at six locations, external media outlets, the public, and the regional healthcare community.
    • Identifies data needs, conducts basic research, analyzes findings, and creates a wide variety of products / materials (print and digital materials, social media content, etc.) based on strategies, goals, data findings, and health care industry trends.
    • Proactively pitches positive stories to external media outlets (newspaper, TV, radio, magazines, etc.), responds to all types of media inquiries, and prepares spokespersons for media interviews.
    • Serves as Deputy Public Affairs Officer (and Acting PAO in PAO's absence) for the hospital and five branch health clinics, including advising leaders and staff on both long-term and short-fuse issues.
