    Summary

    Located in Boulder, Colorado, the Institute for Telecommunication Sciences (ITS) is the research and engineering laboratory of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). The ITS is seeking bright, innovative, results-oriented individuals to join our Pathways Internship Program (IP). The IP targets students accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program in an accredited/qualifying educational institution, on a full- or half-time basis.

    Responsibilities

    Upon successful completion of the Pathways Internship Program and completion of their academic degree or Certificate program, individuals may be non-competitively converted to a term position or permanent position in the Competitive Service

    As a Student Trainee (Computer Science), you will assist higher banded Computer Scientist employees with the following duties:

    • Developing and implementing algorithms;
    • Validating, verifying and testing software implementations;
    • Assist senior developers with web front-end development, database application, testing and software deployment; and
    • provide written and oral reports and status updates while working in a team-based environment.

    This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Student Trainee (Computer Science), ZP-1599-1/2, FPL 3 positions within Office of the Secretary (OS) in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
