    A Human Resources Assistant (Military), GS-0203-06, Serves as a reviewer or processor of actions in, but not limited to: officer, enlisted, boards, retirement, education, automation, personnel plans, mob-readiness, health services, and Soldier Family services. Performs complete review of records and other case documentation to ensure that they are procedurally correct, complete, and documentation is sufficient for action being taken and that all levels of legal, medical, and administrative review have been completed. Provides administrative support for the programs assigned to the MILPO. Must be able to type military and non-military correspondence, messages, orders, reports, forms, requisitions, directives, SOP's, and similar material. Proof reads finished copy, corrects as necessary and assembles for review, signature, authentication, or other disposition. Provides guidance on requirements for basic regulatory functions. Completes cross training by becoming familiar with and occasionally performing duties of other full time support positions assigned to the MILPO. Responsible for completion and submission of various required personnel actions. Researches and obtains all necessary relevant information regarding cases and issues. Provides explanations and interpretations of rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements pertaining to actions taken or recommended. Forwards cases to the appropriate action officer for final review and decision. Drafts or prepares related correspondence for appropriate signature and enters data in automated systems, as needed. Utilizes, reviews, and updates data from information sources, both manual and electronic, for use in answering questions, responding to correspondence, or preparing reports or briefings. Provides support to maintain a variety of automated systems and interfaces used to manage service members both locally and statewide. Reviews transaction reports from previous days' inputs for errors, corrects inaccurate data, and resubmits transaction to appropriate automated system. Provides assistance in counseling service members on available benefits; accuracy of the emergency data and contact information and the accuracy of the DEERS/RAPIDS (Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System/Real-time Automated Personnel Identification System) information; and allows the service member to perform a general review of their record. Performs other duties as assigned.
