The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience installing, supporting and managing enterprise Windows Servers in both a physical and virtual environment.
Examples of such experience for the GS-12 could include:
-Experience as a system administrator of an enterprise windows server environment; OR
-Experience providing IT services such as designing, developing, testing, documenting, maintain, and/or integrating IT systems; OR
-Experience in identifying IT (Information Technology) related problems and developing corrective actions.
AND
In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must have IT-related proficiency in each of the four competencies listed below.
- Attention to Detail, such as providing support for the analysis and studies of customer needs for initial and/or additional Enterprise Windows Hosting services.
- Customer Service, such working with clients and customers to assess their needs and providing around the clock technical support for IT customers.
- Oral Communication, such as providing technical guidance and instruction to a variety of users, as well as communicating with personnel throughout an organization on job related matters, both orally and in writing.
- Problem Solving, such as performing incident, problem management and audit support associated with the Enterprise Windows Server infrastructure.
Specialized experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility at the GS-09 level in the Federal service or equivalent, which have equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes experience installing and supporting enterprise Windows Servers in both a physical and virtual environment.
Examples of such experience for the GS-11 could include:
-Experience with software installation and configuration; OR
-Experience adhering to instructions, policies, and guidelines in exercising judgment to resolve commonly encountered work problems and deviations OR
-Experience analyzing fact and drawing conclusions about IT systems.
AND
In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must have IT-related proficiency in each of the four competencies listed below.
- Attention to Detail, such as providing support for the analysis and studies of customer needs for in accordance with policies and procedures.

For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
