    As an Education Program Specialist, GS-1720-12, you will be responsible for the following duties:

    The applicant selected for this position will perform federal grant support that will sustain the grant activities in the event of a natural disasters. Selects, reviews, monitors, and evaluates grantees of federally funded programs. As necessary, assists in conducting detailed analysis of natural disasters and their impact on administered programs. Carries out analysis and advisory assignments; develops program management techniques, protocols, program monitoring, program planning, risk mitigation and risk management to ensure compliance with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) requirements. Participates in meeting and conferences both internal and external to the organization. Maintains relationships with education officials at the state and local level. Develops, writes and obtains necessary clearances for technical review of plan to be used for evaluation and grant/contract review processes. Conducts site monitoring and provides training.

    25% or less - Occasional travel is required.
