Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS) is recruiting an individual with proven leadership skills to serve as a Urologist Surgeon and join the team as a full-time Urologist. Brand new state of the art facility with beautiful new clinic space including UroNav MR1 fusion biopsy facility and fantastic brand new operating rooms with all brand new endoscopic equipment and two dual consoles Xi da Vinci Surgical systems. Opportunity for joint appointment and collaboration with academic partners at Tulane University Department of Urology.
The Urologist will expand the current surgical programs and full participate in helping to establish a state of the art division of Urology. The successful candidate will have a record of accomplishments clinically and academically. Also, the candidate will qualify for an academic appointment with one or both of our affiliated medical schools - LSU and Tulane. This opportunity will be including working with and teaching resident physicians.
The best-qualified candidate must possess broad administrative and clinical skills as an actively practicing Surgeon. The position requires strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of Urology Surgery with emphasis on services to patients with the genitourinary tract, consultations, and outpatient clinics. Responsible for training of residents in urology program. Fellowship training encouraged, board certification/eligible required. The incumbent must have an interest or fellowship training in nephrolithiasis.
