    This position is located in George Washington Memorial Parkway, in the Division of Maintenance.

    Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will not be paid. All travel, transportation, and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be the sole responsibility of the selected employee.

    • Applies basic health, sanitary, and mechanical principles and practices to ensure proper operation and maintenance of potable water systems.
    • Monitors water systems to maintain required standards for potable water.
    • Performs water testing per regulatory standards.
    • Installs, replaces, and/or repairs fixtures such as toilets, sinks, faucets, etc.
    • Performs basic trouble-shooting of plumbing equipment, such as clearing clogs, cleaning filters, stopping leaks, etc.
    • Completes work assignments following complex written instructions that require determining alternatives and making decisions in the field.
    • Completes work assignments following complex oral instructions that require determining alternatives and making decisions in the field.
    • Operates pick-trucks with snow plows and equipped with salt spreader/sander to remove snow and ice from roads.
    • Performs minor carpentry repairs, such as benches, picnic tables, trim.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position to various sites within the park and to attend meetings or training.
