    This position is located in the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN),Office of Applied Research and Safety Assessment, Division of Molecular Biology.

    Responsibilities

    • Independently manages the design, development, and application of tests on various foodborne pathogenic bacteria, such as strains of Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Shigella.
    • Initiates, formulates, plans as well as executes and controls major studies or continuing specialized projects.
    • Supervises technical staff, post-doctoral fellows, and students and is responsible for planning laboratory approaches and assignments.
    • Attends conferences, meetings, and delivers lectures on subjects relevant to the research program, often as an expert speaker or key participant.
