    This position is located in the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (HMSG), Smithsonian Institution (SI). The employee is responsible for the planning, development, editing, and dissemination of all HMSG published materials.

    • Plans and coordinates all publications of the Museum, establishes editorial standards and style guides for all publications, and serves as the primary editor for all printed Museum material.
    • Manages all publication efforts for exhibition catalogues, collection handbooks, and other commercial publications by utilizing knowledge of commercial book production, editing and distribution protocols.
    • Writes and edits copy for publications, exhibition texts, and high-level Museum reports or proposals; and works closely with layout designer.
    • Assesses team workload and assigns tasks to editorial staff, contractors, and interns in order to meet deadlines and encourage professional development.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Travel 1 - 2 trips per year.
