    The position is located in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Office of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and oversees the Bureau’s data and information teams responsible for the proper intake, management, oversight and disposition of the Bureau’s information assets.

    Responsibilities

    As a Chief Data Officer, you will:

    - Serve as the chief executive of data and information policy, governance, and management.

    - Provide overall direction and oversight to a broad set of functions that support the Bureau’s data and information functions. These functions include Data Policy, Data Governance, Privacy, PRA, FOIA and Records Management.

    - Provide executive direction and strategic leadership in the development, dissemination and implementation of Bureau-wide data standards, policy, reports and publications requirements.

    - Coordinate with Bureau officials on the use, protection, and generation of data to ensure that the data needs of the Bureau are met.

    - Make short- and long-term investment plans to acquire the requisite operational capabilities for building and maintaining CFPB’s data and information assets including infrastructure needs, business practices, management roles, and performance measures for the CDO program.

    - Integrates the reporting functional areas to achieve a cohesive vision for data and information management at the Bureau.

    - Establish cohesive policies and processes across related functional areas such as Privacy, PRA and FOIA to ensure efficient and effective programmatic support to Bureau stakeholders.
