    Summary

    This position is located in the Information Technology Division (ITD), Office of Management (OM), within the Office of Inspector General (OIG). The position serves as an IT Specialist, providing program, technical and administrative support to ITD and OIG. The position functions under the general direction of the supervisory IT Specialist, receiving directives on situations which may significantly affect the operations of programs within the OIG.

    Responsibilities

    • Providing technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
    • Creating help desk trouble tickets and assigning them based on criticality; walking users through the problem solving process; following up with users to ensure issue has been resolved.
    • Diagnosing and resolving technical problems in response to user reported incidents. Researching, evaluating, and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements.
    • Planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and computer peripherals. Managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
    • Ensuring systems availability, functionality, integrity, and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements.
    • Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services.
    • Writing training manuals and training users.
