    This position serves as an Auditor within the office of Grants and Internal Activities Audit Division (GIAAD) which the incumbent will provide audit services and oversees audits of the operations and programs of more than 300 public health and human service programs.

    As an Auditor within GIAAD, the incumbent will perform the below functions:

    1. Performs audits for matters of HHS-wide concern or matters affecting the organization for the purpose of evaluating the efficiency and economy of operations.
    2. Directs coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the work for assigned auditors. Provides guidance and technical direction.
    3. Determines adequacy of the audits in terms of conformance with generally accepted auditing standards, and compliance with regulations.
    4. Develops or modifies auditing methods and techniques to resolve a variety of complex auditing problems.
    5. Determines those probable areas or matters of particular significance for audit.
    6. Provides advance notification and develops and disseminates guidelines on probable areas of emphasis, approaches which may be expected, pre-survey readiness actions, development of audit response plan.
    7. Advises, works with, and coordinates with responsible auditors concerning the preparation of the reply and the possible existence of similar conditions within other organizations.
