DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY: This position is being filled through the office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Government-Wide Direct-Hire Authority for this occupation and is open to all U.S. Citizens.
The incumbent of this position serves as the OIG Information System Security Officer for General Support Systems, Major applications, and sub-systems; provides OIG network assistance when appropriate, for one or more specialty areas that are essential to the IT activities of the OIG, e.g., Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM). Ensures a high degree of confidentiality, integrity and availability of a variety of information management systems including software and network analysis, development, maintenance and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools. Participates in the certification of information security systems and accreditation (A&A) process. Advises information system owners and OIG leadership regularly on system security postures, applying policies and procedures to ensure security. Other duties include:
A background investigation will be required for this position. Continued employment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.

Minimum Qualification Requirement for the GS-13 level
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level that demonstrates the ability to identify and recommend specifications to meet IT security requirements; conduct security accreditation reviews for installed systems or networks; resolve IT integration security issues and experience in Windows, or other standalone/and or client server operating systems in a TCP/IP network environment.
In addition to meeting the qualifications above, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
There is no education substitution for GS-levels above the GS-11.
