    Summary

    This position is located in the Nutrition and Food Services section of the Central Texas Health Care System, Waco Campus. Work is performed with identified steps and/or sequence of tasks that require attention to work operations, follow set procedures in accomplishing repetitive assignments, and follow an established sequence of work. Work assignment may be during breakfast, lunch, dinner, or rotating shifts.

    Responsibilities

    Major duties and responsibilities include:

    • Assist in transport of food from food bank refrigerator to tray assembly lines.
    • Set up and replenish foods, condiments, dishes, flatware, and serving utensils on tray assembly and cafeteria lines.
    • Follow printed menus, computerized tray tickets, and established procedures to serve correct food items when assigned to a position on the tray assembly line.
    • Serve patients from a centralized tray assemble line or in a cafeteria or dining room setting.
    • Portion food by placing uniform/standardized amounts in dishes and in correct quantities.
    • Assist with movement of tray carts from therrnalization refrigerator and with placement of carts in serving units.
    • Deliver and pick up patient's trays, noting food acceptance and patient's comments.
    • Transport carts with soiled dishes for pickup/return to kitchen.
    • Remove trash and food waste from trays. Pre-rinse, pre-soak, and load or unload dish machine in accordance with established procedures.

    Work Schedule: Tours of duty rotate between 5:30am - 2:00pm and 10:30am - 7:00pm with rotating days off.
