    This position is located in the Smithsonian Institution's Scholarly Press (SISP)-the Smithsonian's only pan-institutional publishing program dedicated to publishing research of Smithsonian scholars. The employee provides administrative and program and project level editorial support to SISP publications, and performs support task essential to SISP's responsibility for administering the Smithsonian's Plan for Increased Public Access to the Results of Federally Funded Research.

    • Maintains and updates systems essential to the publishing program such as online submission management system, submission and publication reports and databases, and permanent files/records, licensing and permissions documentation inventory and fulfillment records.
    • Coordinates program communications.
    • Coordinates all financial transactions, including procurement through purchase orders and purchase/shipping cards, and serves as liaison with the Office of Finance & Administration.
    • Provides editorial assistance at program and project levels for scholarly publications.
