    The incumbent serves as an advisor to the Bureau Chief and Deputy Bureau Chiefs on media regulations and privacy enforcement issues and a variety of highly specialized matters of a legal or technical nature in relation to the Commission's rules and regulations and on the adequacy of the Commission's actions to promote the vital interests of the American public.

    Develops plans for accomplishment of programs and, in coordination with the Bureau Chief, participates in establishing goals and objectives for these programs and activities. As delegated, determines scope and extent of programs to be undertaken and proportion of total resources provided to be devoted to individual program activities. Considers Commission and Bureau policies, priorities, workload, and urgent program requirements. Continuously evaluates progress through discussion with staff, review of reports and presentations, and acts to redefine goals, reallocate resources or otherwise expedite progress of assigned programs. Determines actions that can be taken to improve the efficiency and economy of operations.
