The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS, a major affiliate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, is seeking one full time faculty/staff physician for patient care and education in Pulmonary and Critical Care.Learn more about this agency
Duties may include, but are not limited to, collaboration with Nurse Practitioners, Pulmonary inpatient and outpatient consults, electronic chart reviews, outpatient clinics (including telehealth clinics if applicable), trainee education, and Pulmonary procedures. Other duties may be assigned by the Chief of Medicine or their designee. VAMC Staff physicians will be referred for academic appointment to the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, Department of Medicine/Pulmonary Division. Academic appointment at the affiliate is required to supervise medical school trainees. Research opportunities are available.
BE or BC in Pulmonary, Critical Care, in addition to BE or BC in Internal Medicine
Strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to provide patient care and supervise trainees in all healthcare settings; previous experience in an academic setting.
Expertise in pulmonary care medicine and invasive pulmonary care medicine procedures.
Academic credentials sufficient to qualify for a faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels.

Work Schedule: Friday and Weekends - Rotating Shifts on Days, Nights, Evenings or as patient care dictates.
