    This position of COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST starts at a salary of $96,970.00 GS-13 grade level, step 01, with pay potential to $126,062.00 GS-13 grade level, step 10.

    • Directs and leads communications campaigns to engage the workforce on key agency human resources and training priorities.
    • Prepares and executes strategic communications plans and products: chooses channels and methods, tailors messages to various audiences, and determines timing.
    • Regularly analyzes communications efforts, recommending innovative solutions to ensure the USCIS workforce stays informed of HR policies, guidance, programs, and services; tracks current trends in communication.
    • Advises managers, project leads, and subject matter experts on effective strategies to reach intended audiences; helps define goals for specific communications.
    • Works cooperatively with the agency's central public affairs office, across human capital divisions, and with DHS to build and maintain mutually-beneficial partnerships, leverage information, and achieve results.
