The incumbent has the ability to independently assess the psychosocial functioning, and the needs of patients and their family members to formulate and implement a treatment plan. The incumbent has the ability to demonstrate involvement of the patient/family in developing and implementing treatment/discharge plans that re realistic, achievable, and understandable through documentation and clinical practice. The ability to independently work with patients and families who are experiencing a variety of psychiatric, medical, and social problems. This requires independent judgment and skill in utilizing supportive, problem solving skills, or crisis intervention techniques and psychoeducation.
The incumbent as the knowledge and experience in the use of DSM V mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures when necessary. This includes acute, chronic and traumatic illness/injuries, common medications and their effects/side effects, and medical terminology. Acts as integral member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. The ability to provide training for new social work staff and MSW students. The incumbent has the knowledge and experience in the use of mental health screening tools such as Beck Depression Inventory, Beck Anxiety Inventory, Beck Hopelessness Scale, and PTSD Checklist. Able to implement Safety Plans with individuals at high risk for harm to self.
Work Schedule: 07:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
