The incumbent will serve as a Senior Analyst in the Health Care (HC) team. As a Senior Analyst, the incumbent serves as an individual contributor or Analyst in Charge (AIC) on research team. The analyst performs the full range of duties in support of GAO studies in response to requests from congressional committees, subcommittees, and those mandated by public laws and committee reports. Pursuant to the HC mission, research projects require specialized knowledge of public health and/or the private health care market.

This position may be filled at GAO Headquarters in Washington, DC or Health Care Field Offices in Atlanta, Chicago, or Seattle.

Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower level/band, the PE-I (or GS-12 equivalent), in the Federal service or comparable private/public sector experience which has equipped the applicant with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience is defined as either experience in evaluating or implementing federal programs to promote and ensure public health and respond to public health emergencies; or in evaluating trends and issues in private health insurance coverage and reform, including issues related to prescription drugs.

-Skill and experience in designing program evaluations, including analyzing complex data regarding public health issues and/or private health care market issues.

-Skill and experience in managing multiple tasks and assignments under tight time constraints.
-Skill in leading and coaching others.
-Skill and experience in leading or collaborating in a team-based environment.
