    The VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) is a Level I tertiary multi campus teaching facility affiliated with the University of Maryland, School of Medicine and over 100 educational institutions. The VAMHCS consists of the acute care Baltimore facility; the multi building Perry Point campus with acute medicine, mental health and long term care; the Loch Raven campus with long term care; and six urban and rural outpatient clinics.

    The Patient Flow Coordinator is aligned within the Utilization Management (UM) Program and demonstrates a high level of clinical practice knowledge, and leadership skills to improve patient flow throughout the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS). The Patient Flow Coordinator serves as the clinical liaison to the medical center clinical and administrative staff to optimize the flow of patients. The Patient Flow Coordinator's responsibility is to coordinate and manage beds throughout the VAMHCS and provide guidance to all medical center employees regarding Bed Control: assuring a seamless flow/movement of patients. This position requires walking rounds, excellent communication skills, oral and written, and problem solving skills.

    Work Schedule: 3:00pm-11:30pm, Monday-Friday.
