    About the Position: You will function as a natural resource management staff specialist for the Operations and Readiness Division, Huntington District Corps of Engineers where you will support major water resource projects at various locations and in a variety of assignments involving all aspects of project operations.

    This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Post-Secondary Students and Recent Graduates.

    • Develop various planning documents, including Master Plans and Operational Management Plans (OMP), for management of the project's man-made and natural resources.
    • Develop and implement specific land use plans for the project.
    • Participate in conservation, preservation, restoration and use of project natural and cultural resources.
    • Establish and maintain productive working relations with other fish and wildlife specialists in the district and with state and federal wildlife management agencies.
    • Participate in activities which protect threatened and endangered species.
    • May be required to conduct and report on inspections of dams and appurtenant structures and perform gate operations to regulate outflow of water in accordance with regulatory requirements.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be required to conduct business related travel - approximately 10%.
