Major Duties and Responsibilities (MDRs)
If you like working with people across agencies to make progress against complex problems, then consider joining a small, agile team that is trying to evolve how we respond to the most complex and ambiguous cyber threats from our top adversaries. Experience with cyber issues is of course welcome but not a requirement. CTIIC is committed to developing our joint duty workforce through training and other opportunities, and seeks personnel who can contribute related expertise to our mission. The successful candidate will lead efforts to evaluate U.S. Government progress toward achieving national-level strategic objectives for countering and mitigating foreign cyber threats. The candidate will develop and produce a range of strategic impact assessments to inform cyber response policy decisions, for which the officer will:
- Ensure observable, measurable, and diagnostic measures of performance and measures of effectiveness are incorporated into interagency plans.
- Facilitate structured, rigorous interagency review of progress toward plan objectives in a manner that is repeatable, transparent, and methodologically sound.
- Identify gaps and impediments that are negatively impacting successful plan implementation efforts and develop solid and well-researched recommendations for policies/procedures designed to reduce these gaps.
- Identify emerging strategic issues and trends to highlight, evaluate them in the context of current U.S. Government plans, and make recommendations for changes and additions.
- Develop and conduct assessments of the overall impact of national-level plans and other priorities.
- Plan, prepare, and present briefings, reports, and presentations to Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) leadership, senior policymakers, National Security Staff, and other U.S. Government consumers in a manner that meets their specified requirements and accounts for adversary threats, U.S. Government actions, and broader geopolitical considerations.
