    As program support assistant to the laboratory, you will provide administrative support for the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) utilizing various skillsets which will include the knowledge of VA Computer Systems and General Services Administration regulations, policies, directives under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer of P&LMS.

    The incumbent is assigned as the Program Support Assistant in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Services and duties will include but not limited to:

    • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager, the Ancillary Manager and the section Fire and Safety Manager in scheduling monthly meetings, preparing agendas and creating Power Point presentations.
    • Transcribes minutes and distributes them as required per protocol.
    • Type new or updating Standard Operating Procedures and Policies for the Department of Pathology as requested by administrative staff.
    • Serves as Supply Technician, for all sections in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service, (P&LMS) to provide Inventory Management for the entire P&LMS.
    • Order, receive and distribute parts for equipment and equipment repairs utilizing the Generic Inventory Package (GIP) complex system.
    • Analyze and define the dimension of problems encountered.
    • Collect necessary data and take or recommend actions upon application or interpretation of guidelines as they apply to the total system equipment programs.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
