    Assists the budget team in the formulation of budget estimates by reviewing projected costs for selected line items. Compiles and updates detailed information required for programs and supporting documentation, budgetary documents, accounting strings and expenditure reports.

    Responsible for all obligation tracking, from the obligating document through the expense report. Monitors unliquidated obligations and validates prior year recoveries monthly.

    Reviews recurring and non-recurring Policy and Budget (P&B) requisitions to ensure that the correct Unit Product Code (UPC), Financial Business Management System (FBMS) Fund Codes, Fund Centers, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) or similar systems are used.

    Checks the accuracy of budget data in budget systems and spreadsheets, as well as in budget submissions to Congress for errors; adjusts inconsistencies and corrects errors; and ensures all necessary supporting documents are present.  Creates monthly expenditure reports to ensure proper fund utilization for the remainder of the fiscal year.

    Runs financial reports from various financial reporting tools in response to requests for information from customers or as a result of reviewing account activity.

    Creates WBSs in response to requests from P&B, ensuring that all WBSs are consistent with official program documents and are in accordance with the project system of accounts. Maintains and controls all P&B accounting information from initiation to completion and distributes completion notices as required.
