    This position is for a budget analyst, located in the Chief Financial Office within the Program Management Office for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization (OEHRM), within the Office of the Deputy Secretary of VA (DEPSECVA). The VA OEHRM is responsible for ensuring that VA successfully prepares for, deploys, and transitions to, a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

    Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. The incumbent may encounter some physical effort, such as standing, walking, bending, lifting (computer equipment and/or office supplies), or sitting. The work often requires long hours to meet program deadlines and to devise corrective action and solutions. Due to the nature of the work (complex, high-profile), unexpected situations may occur that could cause mental and/ or physical stress (e.g. management crises, or any action that becomes high-priority and requires immediate attention). The work requires almost constant use of a video display terminal

    Major Duties:

    • Serve as authoritative source for advice on formulation of budget estimates and guidance
    • Review, analyze, revise, defend, and recommend approval, disapproval, of budget requests, justifications, and modifications
    • Analyze, combine, and consolidate budget estimates into a document that reflects the balanced funding needs for a specified timeframe
    • Analyze reports and documents for status of funds and accounts, and document expenditures and obligations for funds allocated
    • Maintain budget, funds control, and execution systems and tools to ensure compliance, accuracy, efficiency, effectiveness, and timely accomplishments of all financial management and budgetary regulations and financial transactions
