The purpose of the work is to lead, direct, and manage, the long-range planning for, and day-to-day operations of the Knowledge Management needs of the ITA by collaborating with business units, coordinating, capturing, and maintaining important knowledge from across the agency. The KM Director exercises independent judgment in identifying, developing, implementing, evaluating, and promoting tools to advance the agency’s KM program. Provides KM direction and leadership to ITA’s workforce in headquarters and the U.S. and internal fields to maximize efficiency and strengthen knowledge creation and sharing in support of achieving strategic goals of the organization and mission of the agency.
Duties include:
Declaration of Federal Employment: If selected for Federal employment, you will be required to complete a "Declaration of Federal Employment" OF-306, prior to being appointed.
Probationary Period: A one-year probational period may be required.
To qualify at the GS-15 level an applicant must have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Skill with knowledge base systems e.g. sales force used for knowledge sharing, management, and promoting the collection, organization, and retrieval of knowledge. Ability to conduct business process analysis, internal control reviews, organizational analyses, and short and long-term planning. Resume must demonstrate the applicant’s ability to clearly and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and manage/supervisor a diverse workforce.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
