The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is the nation's living memorial to President Kennedy. The Center receives federal funding each year to pay for maintenance and operation of the building, a federal facility.
The incumbent will serve as a Project Manager in the Project Management Office of the Kennedy Center and is responsible for project management through the lifetime of assigned projects. The incumbent will also serve as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).

Physical Requirements:
The work is a combination of sedentary and requiring physical effort and exertion such as e.g., walking, standing, carrying items such as manuals or briefcases. Long periods of standing, bending, and stooping is also required to observe and study work operations in project construction areas/sites, confined spaces, mechanical equipment rooms, and other spaces that are noisy, dirty and close quarters, and lifting of light to moderate heavy items weighing less than 15 pounds.
Telework Suitability:
The duties of this position are suitable for occasional telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval and if they meet the eligibility criterion in the 2010 Telework Act.
Stipulations of Employment:
Selection may require completion of a 1-year probationary period.

The John F. Kennedy Center for The Performing Arts (JFKC) is a quasi-official Government agency and a living Presidential memorial. The JFKC fulfills its obligation as a living memorial to the late President through the presentation of performing arts programming and through education activities both in the District of Columbia and around the country. The largest cultural facility of its kind, it is the nation's busiest arts facility presenting more than 2,000 performances each year. It currently consists of one building encompassing approximately 1,500,000 square feet of usable floor space and is situated on 17 acres of land overlooking the Potomac River. A 65,000 square foot addition to the facility is currently under construction and will become part of the Federal complex when completed in 2019.
The JFKC houses nine theaters, production support areas, two public restaurants, nine function/special event rooms, five public galleries/halls/foyers, approximately 50,000 square feet of administrative offices and a large parking facility. It attracts over three million visitors annually. The facility operates 365 days per year and support systems in the building often operate at capacity 14 hours per day.
