EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
In this position, you will serve as the Administrative Specialist in the Response Directorate and perform a variety of administrative functions for the Branch.Typical assignments include:
- Maintaining time and Attendance; Regulating and maintaining the Director’s calendar as well as the CBRN Office shared calendar. Ensures all leave, travel and important meetings are captured on the CBRN Shared calendar. Provides Director with daily schedule print out.
- Responding to all interagency and Response Front Office tasking. Prepares and conducts technical review of procurements packages before submission to senior leadership. Prepares weekly report to Director of staff’s projects and takes notes during weekly staff meeting.
- Custodial Officer; periodically inventories office equipment, manages the process of obtaining new and/or replacing equipment. Respond to staff’s equipment and/or supply requests.
- Assisting the XO in Human Resources action including but not limited to: Preparing certificates reviews for managers, scheduling interviews, and preparing recruitment packages. Assists new employees with account creations and contractor security processing.
Occasional travel - Occasional non-emergency travel may be required.
