This Program Manager position serves as the Deputy Director, Training Operations Division (TOD) in Training and Development (T&D), and is responsible for managing and directing the daily operational activities of the division and supervises the work of a staff of professionals, including analysts, instructional systems design specialists, and administrative personnel. The Deputy Director supports the Assistant Administrator (AA) and Deputy Assistant Administrator (DAA) of T&D by establishing standards and requirements for nationwide training programs and serving a consultant to the Director, TOD as well as other TSA senior executive staff. The Deputy Director is responsible for leading, developing and implementing programs and processes for subordinate branches:. The TOD team is responsible for providing effective learning environments and opportunities by utilizing current and relevant curricula and training methodologies to enable and challenge transportation security professionals to perform their duties and responsibilities in a highly effective manner.

This is an Emergency Essential Position.
Incumbent must successfully complete all agency-required training.
Must be willing to undertake extensive travel, at times overnight as required.
DHS TSA employees may be subject to 24-hour on call duty in the event of an emergency. This service may require irregular working hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the position description. Selectee must be able to relocate to emergency sites with little advance notice and function under intense physical and mental stress.
The incumbent develops and implements programs and processes for three Division branches (TSA Academy, Aviation Programs Branch and the Canine Training Center) to provide effective learning environments and opportunities, utilizing current and relevant curricula and training methodologies, to enable transportation security professionals to perform their duties and responsibilities in a highly effective manner.
