EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
In this position, you will serve as Region VIII's FIT (FEMA Integration Team) Field Manager. Typical assignments include:
• Serving as the primary point-of-contact to the Region VIII Senior Advisor.
• Providing regular work plan updates to the Regional office through the FIT Senior Advisor.
• Providing direction, leadership and support to the remainder of the FEMA Integration Team (FIT). Assist FIT staff in preparing annual work plans and completing quarterly evaluations of performance.
• Serving as the Region’s initial point for situational awareness during State EOC activations and response activities. This role will serve as or support other FIT members serving as the Region VIII State Liaison Officer (SLO) during steady state operations.
50% or less - 50% or less domestic travel may be required.
