    About the Position: The Industrial Hygienist is responsible for planning and administering an Industrial Hygiene program for one or more small to large-sized military activities engaged in a range of industrial and administrative processes that support research, development, testing, engineering, program administration, and infrastructure.

    As an Industrial Hygienist with Kirk US Army Health Clinic you are responsible for successful completion of work assigned and documentation in the Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System, Industrial Hygiene (DOEHRS-IH) database. Following survey data entry, uses Quality Assurance tools to review the work of the Industrial Hygiene Technicians and completes the hazard assessment in DOEHERS-IH. You will conduct baseline/periodic surveys on buildings, shops, and processes to include the establishment of the hazard inventory, controls in use, shop personnel, and the processes that they perform. Reviews drawings and scopes of work for new construction and renovation work, as well as the specifications of materials, equipment, and furnishings. You will plan and direct a health education program in the areas of hazard communication, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, vision conservation, and chemical hygiene, the effective use of engineering controls, proper lifting techniques, proper posture and usage of computer workstations.
