    About the Position:

    The Contracting Division executes an annual workload of roughly 2,000 actions with total obligations valued at approximately $175M. The commodities contracted include, heavy construction, repair, dredging, installation support services, architectural/engineering, and professional services. Acquisitions include purchases and contracts ranging from $2,500 to over $100M. Solicitation methods include sealed bidding, sole source negotiations, and best value source selections.

    Responsibilities

    • Serves as a Contract Specialist for the Contracts Branch of the Directorate of Contracting, Contract Division, US Army Engineer District, New England.
    • Perform pre-award and post-award functions for construction, engineering services, supply, and service contracts. Contracts are primarily firm-fixed-price type.
    • Under the support of a senior staff member, conducts negotiations and advises technical personnel in conducting negotiated acquisitions.
    • Assist in drafting contracts and preparing records of negotiation.
    • The incumbent will also assist in administering contracts by arranging for payment processing, monitoring contractor performance, and implementing contract modifications.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Overnight business travel required at least 10% of the time.
