Duties include but are not limited to:
- Reviews, coordinates, and integrates commodity management assets.
- Determines current and future supply (procurement and maintenance) requirements.
- Provides disposition instructions for recess and dormant material.
- Makes recommendations and/or proposed plans for implementation cost saving methods.
- Provides detailed data analysis.
- Determines underlying causes of deficiencies to identify supply chain problem areas.
- Prepares detailed reports by conducting cost analysis.
- Develops automated tools to support maintenance supply chain management research, simulation, and analysis.
- Writes and develops documentation of supply chain policies and procedural directives.
- Provides authoritative technical advice concerning logistics and general supply matters.
- Performs cost containment strategies, insuring the effectiveness, quality and economy of operations.
- Initiates and tracks forecasting actions on assigned items for future requirements.
- Reviews work in progress and prepares reports/briefings as required.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. GS-11)Specialized Experience: Applicants must have One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-9 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: .
- Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics programs and or operations..
- Knowledge and skill in using automated supply databases for supply management determinations.
- Skill in oral and written communications to prepare briefings, reports, correspondence and to serve as a point of contact and advisor for internal and external contacts for explanation and justification of overall local policies and procedures used within the logistics process.
Applicants may substitute education for the experience required for the GS-11 level. For education to qualify, applicants must possess a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such LL M. if related.
To calculate, first identify the percentage of required education you have earned (when substituting, you cannot use the first 18 semester hours that you earned). Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at the GS-11. For example, an applicant who has 9 semester hours of graduate level education (i.e. 50% of graduate education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position.
