    The Reimbursable Billing Technician position is located within the Office of Community Care, Consolidated Patient Account Center at the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In this position you will serve as the Facility Revenue Technician for the Consolidated Patient Account Center (CPAC).

    The major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Researches, analyzes, generates, and corrects Veteran's first party co-payments for care;
    • Accesses, retrieves, manages, and processes various revenue reports;
    • Serves as the point of contact for resolving operational problems as it applies to Veterans accounts;
    • Analyzes and evaluates techniques to determine if first party co-payment bills are appropriate;
    • Reviews and processes all specialty billing encounters;
    • Reviews and analyzes, researches, and verifies insurance policy coverage, filing timeframes, COB information and pre-certification requirements for third party billing;
    • Maintains databases;
    • Collaborates with eligibility and enrollment services;
    • Documents current account status for all billing and accounting actions, transactions and decisions; and
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
