One position will serve inpatients at the Jefferson Barracks Division under the direction of the Inpatient Program Manager. The second position will serve the outpatient program at Jefferson Barracks (and may be required to float to the John Cochran Division). This position reports to the Outpatient Program Manager at Jefferson Barracks.
The Psychiatrists will provide a full range of psychiatric services, including assessment of medication management, consultation, and treatment services for a full range of mental health conditions.
The VA St. Louis Health Care System is a Tertiary Care Center for the VA Heartland Network/VISN 15. Located on two campuses, the medical center provides medical and mental health services to a diverse population from rural and urban settings throughout Missouri, Southern Illinois and adjoining states. The health care system has strong affiliations with Saint Louis University and Washington University. The physician will work with medical students and psychiatric residents from these affiliates. Multiple opportunities for research collaboration exist between the VA, Washington University and Saint Louis University.
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Annual leave shall accrue for full-time physicians at the rate of 26 days per leave year (1 day per pay period) while sick leave shall accrue at the rate of 13 days per leave year.
The physician does not require malpractice insurance as he/she is covered by the VA.
Multiple health insurance plans to consider and once selected, will be effective the beginning of the next pay period (2 weeks).
In addition to the Federal Employees Retirement System and Social Security, the physician can participate in the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). The government matches contributions up to 5%. For more information on TSP, please see www.TSP.gov.
