    Employee will serve as the Program Support Assistant at the Jamaica Plain VA in Boston, MA. The employee will be responsible for administrative tasks for current and future research studies related to the group in Neuropathology.

    NOTE: This is a TERM appointment (not-to-exceed 18 months). Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration (more than 1 year but not more than 4). Term employees are eligible to earn leave and generally have the same benefits as permanent employees including health and life insurance, within-grade increases and Federal Employees Retirement System and Thrift Savings Plan coverage. Term appointments may be extended without further competition (up to the 4 year maximum). The appointment to a Term position does not confer eligibility for promotion or reassignment to other positions or the ability to be non-competitively converted to permanent employment.

    Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

    • Monitor budgets for research projects and grants.
    • Ensure all lab purchases are made in a timely and accurate fashion.
    • Process all VA related travel for the principal investigator.
    • Perform work related to the acquisition and/or development of program information and resource materials.
    • Provide administrative and clerical support work to support the activities of the study.
    • Maintain system of program-specific data to track items such as project budget and spending.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
